Energy Saving Evaluation with Low Liquid to Gas Ratio Operation in HVAC&R System

Previous studies have been conducted by employing various methods to reduce the condenser water temperature, a crucial control variable consider when attempting improve operational efficiency of chiller. The existing literature dealing with effects low-condenser temperatures is limited, as cooling flow rate often considered operating loop. However, produce additional low temperatures, approach temperature tower in system must be reduced. To it necessary review physical behavior and according change liquid gas ratio (LGR), which dependent upon fan air within this process has rarely reviewed previous studies. Therefore, study developed new algorithm from LGR perspective, effectiveness was quantitatively using EnergyPlus. Compared conventional conditions, operation for low-approach applied, annual energy saving 27.0%, average chiller COP improved 27.8%, 47.4%. Furthermore, even not applied at same set 15%. 2% 23.2%, respectively. These results indicated that operated LGR, under outdoor load system’s can without installing high-efficiency equipment.
